As a signatory of the European Road Safety Charter (which aims to halve road deaths in Europe by 2010), we are committed to all aspects of road safety.

We also support a variety of schemes which promote safe road use to young people. Around our Augusta refinery in Italy, we run the “Safety on two wheels” initiative which aims to provide police-led training courses and highway code advice to teenage motorcyclists.

In the UK, we support “Safe Drive Stay Alive” shows for young drivers, and we sponsored a “traffic garden” in the Netherlands which helps children learn to behave safely in traffic.
